Grigory Mikhalkin (Université de Genève), lauréat 2013 de la Chaire d'excellence de la Fondation et qui effectue à ce titre un séjour à l'IMJ, donne depuis septembre 2014 deux mini-cours intitulés Tropical Geometry in Examples et Tropical Curves and their Enumeration.

Résumé: These lectures will introduce some basic principles of Tropical Geometry and review several examples (originating not only in mathematics, but also in other sciences), where passing to tropical limit becomes useful.

Tropical Curves and their Enumeration
Résumé: In these lectures we take a detailed look at tropical curves as well as the way they appear in higher-dimensional varieties. The resulting theory has several applications, in particular, for solving some classical problems in real and complex enumerative geometry.
